Visual Fault Locator

The Model RS650 is a rugged, handheld, and easy-to-use optical visual fault locator for singlemode and multimode applications. Commonly known as a VFL, the Model RS650 features a universal “fast connect” interface that accepts any connector style with a 2.5mm ferrule. It operates on 2 1.5V AAA battery with 30hours continues working time. The VFL output is from 650nm visible red laser providing visibility beyond 5km,assuring 1mW output power.

Unlike many pen-size VFL, the RS650 features a choice of continuous wave or flashing output. The “fast connect” interface eliminates the inconvenience of having to use a patch cable for direct connection to fiber under test if connector styles are dissimilar.

The Model RS650 VFL is an ideal assistant in installation, testing and finding breaks in LANs, verifying short lengths of installed fiber, or looking for cracked fiber in splice cases, bad connectors, tight bends in fiber cable, backbone breaks or anywhere light continuous needs checking.
